The Beloved Celebrity Couple Has Lessons We Can All Learn From
Hollywood’s beloved power couple just solidified their demigod status and have delivered to us mere mortals some #parentinggoals.
Despite possessing beauty, fame, and adorable kids (not that we’re jealous…) artist John Legend, 41, and model and television personality Chrissy Teigen, 34, somehow remain relatable. Maybe it’s the fact that they, like many parents, are also figuring out the whole teaching at home thing during this time of social distancing and school closures.
“It’s not easy,” says Legend. “I think every parent is realizing how hard it is to be a teacher,” the singer recently told People.
Legend, who was homeschooled by his parents, has spoken of the lessons he took from his own at-home education. Lessons like “what it means to be hardworking, determined, loving, patient … and how to succeed in the right way,” he said in an interview with InStyle.
Legend’s insights offer a refreshing reminder that some of the best lessons coming from home don’t have to be attached to a formal academic lesson plan. In fact, he and Teigen have used the year’s pandemic to emphasize more at-home lessons around proper hygiene, which may not sound like much, but … the optimism it takes to use a pandemic as grounds for learning — and getting a four-year-old to do anything, really — is a lesson we can get on board with.
Meanwhile, their two-year-old son, Miles, is starting at-home driving lessons a little early. Teigen’s Twitter update says it all.
